The Endeavor Program

The Endeavor Program at Carriage House is a year round, therapeutic preschool program for children ages 2 – 6. This program is ideal for children who have been diagnsed with autism, developmental disabilties or genetic conditions. However, a formal diagnosis is not required for entry into the program. It provides a very small, intensive therapeutic learning environment with a maximum of seven students and three trained staff. This small environment ensures the intense interaction and instructional guidance that these children require to learn in a group setting.

An initial assessment is completed shortly after enrollment using a variety of appropriate assessment tools including the VB-MAPP. These assessments provide a wealth of information about current skills and goals for skill acquisition. An Individualized Education Plan is then created by the teacher, behavior specialist and parents. We consider parent input curcial to the success of each child’s program and recognized the importance of consistency across environments.

Within each Endeavor classroom, a unique combination of Early Childhood Education best practice and evidenced based and emerging early intervention strategies (ABA, VB, DIR, TEACCH) are imbedded in a natural learning environment that utilizes incidental teaching and direct instruction. They are designed to provide a developmentally appropriate preschool environment into which each child’s individual plan may be embedded. Our program centers on educating the whole child in a developmentally appropriate way with special emphasis on increasing communication, social interaction and independence. In addition to the intervention strategies, we use the Get Set for School® Curriculum from the makers of Handwriting Without Tears® preschool curriculum, which we have found to be one of the most comprehensive hands-on models available.

Enrollment & Cost

Enrollment options include morning and afternoon sessions. Each session is three hours in length. The morning session is from 8:45 a.m. – 11:45 a.m., and the afternoon session is from 12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Children must attend at least 2 half day sessions, with the option of up to 8 sessions per week. The cost of each three hour session is $96. If your child has a formal diagnosis of autism, some insurance plans will cover the cost of Endeavor. We encourage you to contact your insurance carrier to determine if they cover ABA Group services. If your child does not have an autism diagnosis or ABA Group is not covered under your insurance plan, you will automatically receive a scholarship partially funded by the WHAS Crusade for Children in the amount of $44.75 per session, decreasing your out-of-pocket responsibility to $51.25 per session. Families of a child with autism who demonstrate financial need beyond the $51.25 per session amount, are eligible to apply for a FEAT of Louisville need-based scholarship.

Registration for the Endeavor Program takes place at anytime throughout the year for children not presently in the program. Interested parents should contact us to schedule a tour. There is a non-refundable fee of $150 per family due at the time of registration required in order to secure enrollment.
